Well, we’ve had our first broken bone. Kyla fell off her chair the other day and at first we didn’t think it was that bad except that she was a little fussy and didn’t really want to do anything. We thought she just pulled a muscle or was a little sore. By the end of the day we noticed she didn’t want to use her left arm. She could move her fingers and grasp things but she would cry when she put pressure on her arm or when we went to pick her up. Again we thought she would feel better in the morning so we waited. I finally got my birthday present (3 weeks after my birthday). Okay, okay, it wasn’t Shawn’s fault. I wouldn’t let him buy it for me because I didn’t want him to spend that much on me, but I finally gave in. Partially because I think he wanted it as bad I did, he kept asking me about it. He bought me a Nikon D40! I got to test it out some this afternoon and take some pics. I still have a lot to learn but I already love it. I didn’t really think it would make that much of a difference from our other camera but it does. It’s great for close up pics of the girls. I posted a few pics that I took this afternoon, so be sure to check them out.
We went exploring this afternoon and checked out Lake Chatuge. It was really nice just to spend some time with my family (and take some pics with my new camera!). It’s been pretty crazy the last couple months. I think it’s just that summertime makes everything crazy. Now that we’ve started school back it’s calmed down a bit. Ashlyn started 1st grade this past week and it’s going really well. She’s remembering everything she learned from last year and she seems more focused on things, maybe it’s because she’s getting older. Emmie’s been wanting to do school too, so I’ve been doing a few things with her. Kyla just kind of plays around in the basement while we are busy. It works out really well. I just pray that it will keep going this well.
I probably should go lay the girls down. I let them stay up late tonight. They’ve been wanting to watch the Olympics (or gymlympics as Emmie likes to call them). Ashlyn gets really into them and cheers for the USA and gets disapointed if they don’t win. Anyway, go USA!

Today is Shawn’s 30th B-day so I designed this page for him. I thought you all might like to look at it. There are some older pics of Shawn as a baby and then some more current pictures of his life now. We had a party for him yesterday. It was fun. I would write more about it but I’m really tired. I wanted to get this page done for his birthday, it took a little longer than I thought it would. Can you believe Shawn is 30 now!?!
I made this for you Shawn. Thanks for being such a wonderful husband and father. I still love you even though you are 30!!!
